An Efficient Machine - The Human Body - a visual story told frame by frame!

Characters:

·      Radio Presenter

·      Hybrid the Car

·      Boy / Girl

Scene 1: Racing Track showing a car racing

Frame 1

The Radio presenter is seated at a desk with knobs and sound system, talking into a mike, wearing headphones, looking out through a large window. On the other side of window, we can see a racing track and cars on a racing track. ( There is sunlight shining through the right side of the picture, through window.)

Radio presenter (Is talking into a mike looking very intensely at the race track, smile on face): It is the final race of the season and our favorite car Hybrid is in the lead. The pit crew want him to change his tyres but he won’t listen….

Next frame shows a Red colour Hybrid Car

Hybrid the car is seen at the Crew Pit and the headlights of the car is like eyes, the fender like mouth.:

Hybrid: “No No No tyre change, I just need some petrol and battery charge.”

Back to Radio presenter

Radio Presenter: We call him Hybrid. He fuels his engine in the best possible way; petrol allows him to go very fast and the battery charge helps him cruise along when needed. He is the favorite contender for the race!

Back to Hybrid car, seen racing fast on the track.

Hybrid : “Here I come chequered flag”

Back to Presenter

Radio Presenter: He has taken the last turn of the lap. He is pushing hard. The crowd is cheering , “Cmon Hybrid you can do it. Hybrid wins! Yaay!!”

Frame 2:

( Hybrid cruises along the racing track and a Girl  or a Boy with a pen and pad run upto Hybrid the car and pat it on its bonnet. The Hybrid car and the Boy / Girl stand next to each other. The Boy/ Girl look like a school reporter, with a pad and pen and a camera around the neck/ holding a cell phone.)

The Boy/ Girl says: Hybrid , congratulations. I would like to interview you for our school magazine. Tell us how are you such a super machine?

Hybrid says ( with a happy smile on its fender) : Thank You, Yes! You can call me a Super Machine.  But I am just like you!

Boy / Girl ( looking puzzled) : Huh,like me??! How do you say that Hybrid?

Hybrid : Well! Cars come in different shapes, sizes and colours and so does the human body.

Boy / Girl ( looking surprised): Ahh! That is true.

Hybrid : Yet the most important thing is cars are assembled with parts that are all similar, just like how the internal parts of the human body is assembled. Meaning, all humans have the same kind of body parts.

Boy/ Girl : Hahaha! Yet everyone notices only the way we are different on the outside.

Hybrid : Good point. In fact that is exactly related to how some prefer a Maruti 800, but another would want only a Ferrari. While some go for looks, others go for efficiency and have a Hybrid car like me!!

Boy/ Girl : Wow Hybrid , well said.

Hybrid : There is more. Do you know some of my parts resemble the human body?

Boy / Girl : Ya, the wheels can be the feet, the headlight are eyes…what else Hybrid?

Hybrid : Let us go deeper into the body of the car and humans! You can write this as an article for your school magazine. Listen to me:

( Boy and girl look keenly, while the frame zooms out of this image and next frame shows us the Digestive system and Fuel tank)

Hybrid voice or speech bubble is seen) : Fuel tank of a car is the Digestive System, one uses fuel to produce mechanical energy and the other uses food to produce energy that runs the entire body so efficiently. So you know now how very important it is to put the right kind of fuel in your system?!

Boy/ Girl : Yes, we hear this all the time! We are what we eat!

(Now the frame shows us the Engine and Circulatory system)

Hybrid : Now the Engine is your Heart of the machine. In the body it is the Circulatory system as it pumps fuel to all parts. Now tell me, the Skeleton system relates to which part of the car?

(Next frame is the Skeletal system with a blank space where the chassis should be)

Boy/ Girl : I know it is the Body / Chassis of the car.

Hybrid : Yes, so once again the frame of the car and the skeletal system of the Human body defines the entire look of the machine or in your case the Human Body!

(Next frame shows the Engine Transmission system and Muscular system)

Then we have the Engine’s transmission system of the car, it is the muscular system of the human body. The transmission system has to be well oiled and the battery tuned for the car to function. Similarly, you need to keep moving your muscles and keep it well tuned by proper exercise for transmission to be tip top!

(Next Frame shows Hybrid with fuel being added to its fuel tank and an electric socket being charged, Boy/ Girl are in the frame)

Now coming back to me. Let me tell you that I am super - efficient as I am a Hybrid. Do you know why?

Boy/ Girl : Not sure Hybrid.

Hybrid : Well my fuel is two way , Petrol and electricity, both help me perform in a different way. Similarly, Humans have to consume carbohydrates and proteins. Carbohydrates gives energy while Proteins helps in growth and vitality! Isn’t that cool ? All of this makes me a super machine and so also the Human Body!

Boy/ Girl holding the camera or phone in the hand: Wow! These are great ways to compare, Hybrid. I will never forget these vital processes in the human body, now that I can imagine it as a car! What a great article we can write. Can we take your picture?

Hybrid : Yes of course. Remember to give me credit when you write it!  Keep your machine well-oiled and take good care of it. Bye!

The Human Body is an efficient Machine.

Come let us learn all the processes that enable us to LIVE!
