I choose LOVE - Versespace

💓💖💕💗💘💛💚💙💜💞💝   Have you ever truly loved? Have you ever looked deeply within and felt your heart expanding to infinity? Have you ever witnessed your heart walking outside? Have you ever hugged a feeling? How is it that no one chooses love? How is it that people shame love and embrace hate? How is it wrong to love but Ok to hate? How is it that this world has not drunk on love enough? What will make us happy to be in love no matter what the outcome? When will we choose love over anything else and be convinced that this is the bestest way? Why do we wait for someone to give us permission to share and show our love? Why are we afraid to trust this amazing love which will surely guide our way? Why do people hide their love and show their hate without any remorse? Why do we believe love weakens while actually it is hate that brings us to our knees? WHERE do we go to LOVE and not hate?   Let me tell you this: Go to Love for Love empowers Go to Love for Love enables Go to ...

Dragon of Hope - Versespace 17

Image
Diving into the depths of my past, Remembering moments of response, As I navigate a world of my reflected meaning making, I become aware people are always responding: In ways that are not obvious, In ways that you may label as unstable, In silence that speaks loud, In inaction that holds me from exploding, In resistance that makes me fight back in miniscule or mighty ways, In passivity that makes me want to lie down In withdrawal that makes me step back In self sabotage that debilitates me In imposter syndrome and inability to trust myself In body harm and shaming In addictions In deep sadness In ferocious anger In swallowed pride In anger that turns inward In inabilities and self doubt In smiles and people pleasing I also become aware people are always responding In boldness and courage In actions of justice and accountability In kindness and compassion In stepping out of boxes and crossing lines In navigating absolutely new waters with curiosity In musical and poetical musings ...

Versespace 10- Meeting an Elder - Tree in Conoor

Image
There in a corner you stood Tall and ram-rod straight! I would have missed you If his shout had not made me run, Towards your majestic girth. 1869 - I rub my eyes with wonder... A hundred and fifty years ago you were planted, To witness the passing time.   Hello dear ancestor, I greet you with delight. Hello dear old tree, I hug you with tenderness. You, my evergreen have lived a long life, In your corner all by yourself. Perhaps, Whispering to your near and dear ones, In a language known only to you.   Wonder what you have seen and heard and felt in all these years, Wonder what secrets are known only to you, Wonder what you feel about me and the hug I give you, Wonder if you will live, long after I am gone...  A witness to the passing time.           ~Meeting a tree planted in 1869 ( Sims Park Coonoor ~ Nov 18th 2022)

Versespace 9 -When will you call me? (a short poem)

Image
Ageless Village, when will you call me? when I am aged? Lucky are those who have been raised  with verdant swaying fields as companions and gushing clear waters of streams and rivers as partners. To feel Mother Earth and  to smell her petrichor and to taste her heritage fruits and to hear the cow bells tinkle and  to see her splendorous sunrise and sunset. To experience freedom and transcendence forever  to know such freedom when will you call me? Ageless Village, When?

Versespace 8 - Are You on that Train?

Are you on that train? Rushing by. Moving so fast  I can scarcely see. The sounds and sights Wooshing by I look on A silent spectator. I strain and stretch To catch glimpses Of you  As it flashes by. I wave, I smile I sigh, I cry I am here but you go there. I know my thoughts But know not yours Where is the time? to stop and share  I too move on On wheels  That seem so slow Almost surreal. Memories and moments roll by me As I pick and choose some to cherish and see We know not  where we meet If we will  It may not be here...or there Or it could well be nowhere

an indefinite wait - Verse space

I walked a long way To find a locked door I stood hesitantly Do I turn and go? I walked a long way To hear words that echo in my dreams Nothing there No one here I walked a long way to wait with indefinite longing

I feel her embrace - Versespace 7

A reconnection with land and water, This landscape begs for a story in verse A journey transports us into new and new found experiences Anxiety and doubt clouds my soul past memories vague newer ones more potent and chilling Whats all this hoo-haa is your question a trip that never was..now has been~ A road less traveled by many yet all those who have, return to smear, splash, paddle and connect. The rustic way compliments the soul as it settles into this way city squeams thrown away as we embrace the natural way the pristine waters entice us seductive beguiling...inviting She promises us experiences and we embrace it with ardor Choosing to flow with her, move with her, an incredible dance between nature and the nurtured To feel her loving embrace a camping weekend on the Western ghats along the Sharavathi river with children, a commune with nature, a feeling relived after many many years...of wonder and freedom,  space and love,  happ...

where do i belong? Versespace

where do i belong? a soulless heart hanging in between i am neither here nor there the illusion around creates my reality a soul in search of dreams and destinies paralleling streams flowing somewhere they dare not meet except nowhere thoughts reach anywhere swirling spirals of self, eddies from the past cascade into the future time's fool un-determine your self

Breaking the cycle - Verse Space

Childhood spent in fantasy, Filling tiny cups of memories. Of early mornings and agarbathi, And jasmine plucked from the bushes. Strung by deft fingers into garlands, For the lord and the servant. Kindly neighbours adored the lass, Feeding and clothing The little princess as if their own. They grew her in a world of their own. Crisp starched sarees ironed to perfection Training school stories and rare independence. A world away from the poverty That haunted the other siblings. Marriage promised a change From a burdened living, But alas little do we know How time does decieve us. Orthodoxy and tradition crippled her soul As she struggled to balance A life with four children And an indecisive workoholic. Where is the Man? What is there in this for me? No answers there, as she absorbed herself Consumed herself with rearing. Bitterness and recrimination Remorse and despair Negativity and anger Hardened her core...

Let Me Awake - Verse space

Sometimes we come to a point in life..I call it the Uuuuugh times. When we question why we are unable to focus? Why we are so distracted? I assume it is all the negativity that is associated with the job that we are given and how we percieve it. I accept. Any job requires a certain amount of positive approach. The problems inherent are to be solved and not looked as a liability. Though at a conscious level this is something I tell myself. I know unconsciously I am bogged by the negativity. Why am I cribbing so much? I have a bum job at hand. I am the Ladies club Secretary. If any of you have done this, then you would know it is not an easy task. Coordinating some programme for 100 ladies, is a big responsibility and if it is a job that has been thrust on you by virtue of the fact that husband  is senior and no one else is available (thats what they say!), then you feel absolutely short changed. I have another distress. I am non-hierarchical, by that I mean I dislike having...

Illusions - Verse Space

illusions is reality, It is, in the love we feel in the lust we experience in the ambitions we hold and in the dreams we dream. In the memories we cherish in the hopes we dwell in the maturity we think we possess in the words we use to communicate ...and the words we understand. In the past that we need to reconcile on in the present moment that we live in and in the future that we aspire for in the choices we make in the path that we follow and in the roles that we play and choose to play It's in the decisions that drive us in the expectations that control us and in the regrets that saddens us It's in the demeanor that we don in the facade that we project to the world in the feelings that we express in the thoughts that we wish to convey.. It's in how we can survive and in how we want to die... Does reality exist? Life is an illusion, and you and I live in a dream...

Nostalgia..6th sept 2004..On Keshav...

(Tumultuous mind Seething emotions Thoughts run helter skelter) Little hands and feet, Pull me hither and thither. Not a moment to breathe Not a minute to spare Enjoyable ..yet tiresome. When a tired head is laid on my lap, When an eager hand grasps my finger, When pattering feet run towards me, When puckered lips reach for my cheeks, When twinkling eyes sparkle with mischief, ..When we want to give up, throw up our hands, Even then.. ...by far the naughtiest cheekiest mischievous little tot.. Even then my lovable son You charm me with your antics...
